Ruby Tilghman is a junior from Panama City, Florida. She organized and hosted a youth concert at the end of the school year that featured young performers called, Hello Summer. All of the proceeds from Hello Summer went to local Fine Arts programs in public schools! Ruby's hope is that Hello Summer will promote creativity and community involvement in the arts! Izzy Panag and Esandi Perera are Sophomores from New York! They co-founded a nonprofit called Strings 4 Smiles that aims to support underprivileged students and minorities by providing them with a basic music education as well as the instruments that come with it! They have recently started a virtual music competition called “Quaran-Teen” which features teen performers and is presented to Healthcare workers to spread a sense of hope! Vipanchi Mungara is a junior from Hillsboro, Oregon! She’s part of an organization called Youth Artists Unite to donate to the Regional Arts and Culture Council’s Arts Impacts fund which raises money for arts communities impacted by the social and economic consequences of the virus. Recently, she has started providing online painting tutorials to support community arts and engage other students!!
Alex Saldana is an eighth grader from Oradell, New Jersey where he is a Life Scout in Troop 36. He plays the trumpet in his school band and is the bugler for his Boy Scout troop. Alex pays tribute to the veterans who lost their lives to the coronavirus by playing taps nightly at the Paramus Veterans Memorial Home. He hopes that playing taps spreads a sense of hope and positivity during the pandemic. Alex will continue to honor the veterans through his Eagle project by conducting a collection to provide them with daily necessities.
Kadance Fredericksen is an 8th grader from Baker, Florida! She is using her talent in the Culinary Arts to benefit her community by providing jams, jellies, and baked goods to law enforcement officers and the local Ronald McDonald Houses!
